Amazing beauty benefits of coffee for skin

Image result for coffee beautyIt looks like today's metropolitan lives are fuelled by coffee. Sure, we love that coffee perks us up to last through the day, and we've practically embraced those quaint joints that mark every street corner.

However, there are reasons beyond the obvious that show how coffee permeates through our lives. While it is scientifically proven that this 'wonder drink', when consumed in moderation, promotes good health and contains properties that help you keep illness at bay, coffee lovers now have a reason to rejoice as we decipher its numerous benefits for the skin!

Delving deeper into the benefits of coffee, it has also been noted that coffee is great for the skin. While drinking a cup gets you that internal coffee boost, rubbing your skin with a soap or cream that contains coffee also promises a whole set of benefits that make coffee a favourite skin 'drink.'

Here are some reasons your skin will thank you for an external coffee boost :

It's a rich source of antioxidants: The environment is full of free radicals (pollution particles, etc.) that wreak havoc on the skin. However, loading up skin with the antioxidants in coffee protects it and bolsters its natural defences. In fact, a study showed that coffee bean extracts can be responsible for skin cell energy preservation due to its free-radical properties."

It protects against harsh sun rays: UVB is harmful and may even lead to more complicated and life-threatening skin diseases. Protecting your skin with caffeine may protect it against UV carcinogens. According to another study, caffeine actually inhibits the DNA damage response, thus protecting skin against the adverse effects of UVB. The inhibition of DNA damage response may offer a therapeutic option for non-melanoma skin cancer.

It makes skin smooth and bright: Because of its qualities that signal tissue repair, coffee plays a crucial role in regulating cell re-growth, leading to retained hydration (increased collagen) and increased skin elasticity.

It enhances circulation: When coffee promotes blood circulation, it leads to healthy and energised skin, effectively reducing the swelling of tissues and de-puffing areas of the skin. You can also make coffee ice cubes in advance and trace it over the affected are.

Apart from drinking coffee, you can also use coffee in many beauty recipes for gorgeous skin and hair. This genius ingredient works great as an exfoliator and a genius hack for puffy eyes.

Here are 5 Amazing Benefits of Coffee for Skin :
1. Face scrub

This ingredient works great as a scrub as it is not harsh on the skin. Try a natural scrub by mixing ground coffee, brown sugar, and olive oil. Once you have mixed it well, massage it on your face in circular motions to buff away the dead skin cells.

2. Scalp exfoliator

Coffee is also a great exfoliator for your scalp. Take a half cup of ground coffee and massage on your wet hair for two minutes. Rinse it off with your regular shampoo and conditioner. This will help to get rid of excess product build up and dead skin cells.

3. Anti-cellulite body scrubThis genius ingredient is also known a good body scrub to minimize cellulite. Coffee helps to tighten skin and also reduce the appearance of dimply cellulite. For the DIY body scrub, mix ground coffee with a spoon of olive oil and sugar. Use this mixture and massage on the affected area in circular motions. You can follow this routine on daily basis, depending on your skin type.

4. Skin brightenerFor a radiant and glowing complexion, you can try a coffee mask. Take half cup of coffee and mix it with few spoons of milk for thick consistency. Use this mixture as a face pack for 10-15 minutes and wash it off with lukewarm water. This face mask will help to get rid of dead skin cells, leaving behind a glowing skin.

5. Reduce puffy eyesCoffee increases circulation and also helps to reduce puffiness as it is high in antioxidant properties. It helps to shrink blood vessels and works great to reduce eye puffiness. Whenever you make a cup of coffee, keep the grounds aside and let them cool for some time. Apply the leftover under the eyes and eyelid area for a few minutes and later rinse it off with cold water. For puffy eyes, you can also try the coffee ice cubes hack.

The dos and don'ts of eye make-up

When it comes to eye make-up, it can transform your look in a jiffy. Be it a classic kajal look or wing liner, your eye make-up can be the focal point of your face. Getting eye make-up right is quite challenging, but following few tricks and how to blend the rest of the make-up can make you look like a beauty pro. Here are a few rules you must follow to master your eye make-up:

1. Don't wear too much make-up
When it comes to sporting heavy eye make-up, you should keep the rest of the make-up minimal, unless you want to look like a disco ball. Go for natural-looking blush and minimal highlighter.

2. Avoid bold lipsticks with heavy eye look

Similarly, a bold lipstick may not be the best choice for smokey eyes or heavy glitter make-up. You can try colours that blend well. Think nude shades or light shades like pink, brown, etc.

3. Use a mascara for light shadows

If you're using a light shadow like a silver one or pastel hues, make sure you define your eyes with a mascara. This will help intensify your eyes and not make you look washed out.

4. Don't forget to groom your brows

Always make sure you groom your brows when sporting eye make-up. So, fill in your brows and shape them well, as all the attention will be around your eye area only.

Before swiping the colour on your lips directly, you must define your lips. A lip liner is thicker than the lipstick and can help to create a barrier and won't let the colour smear.

Choose the right shade
Always test the colour before you purchase. Hint: look for a colour that brightens your face and not makes you dull instead. For nude colours, look for a shade matching your lip colour, as there is no one-for-all hue.

Apply it the right way
Whenever you apply your lipstick, start from the centre of your lips to the corner. Once you've applied the lip colour, blot with a tissue paper and then apply a second coat for a long-lasting stay.

Eating while standing can make you fat: Here's why.

Good eating habits are not just about what we ingest but also, and above all, how we ingest it. Eating slowly and thoughtfully, chewing thoroughly and enjoying a meal sitting down, for example, are all behaviors that can affect your weight.

Eating while Standing = Weight Gain

You do it all the time—at parties, office functions, cocktail bars. Eating while standing up has become a common practice in all areas of life, due to various circumstances. You might associate standing up with losing weight; after all, sitting for long hours throughout the day has been linked to weight gain and multiple other health issues—unfortunately, it's not. If you're trying to lose weight, it's advisable to eat while seated. Just being at a table encourages you to focus on your meal, which helps you feel fuller and reduces the temptation to snack later on.
If you're standing, however, you might be more likely to consider your meal as a snack, even if it has the same amount of calories. At least that's what research findings suggest in a study from University of Surrey, published in the journal Appetite.
The study's survey looked at 80 women, who were asked to designate what they ate as a snack or as a meal. Some received food that was served in a bowl with plastic cutlery while standing up; others were served food in a ceramic dish with steel cutlery while sitting. After the meal, the women were taken to a second room to do a taste test of various unhealthy foods (chocolate cookies, cheese, chocolate icing, etc.)
The researchers found that study participants who had eaten on their feet considered what they ate to be a "snack" rather than a meal and proceeded to eat substantially more during the taste test than those who had eaten sitting down at the table, despite equal calorie intake. In total, they ingested 50 percent more calories.
It just goes to show how connected our minds are to our physical state while eating, and the same goes for other bad habits, such as watching TV or using technology while eating.
Bottom line? Keep mealtimes sacred. Focus on your food, listen to your body, and above all, don't forget to sit down and enjoy!

Foods That Will Boost Your Liver Function

Slide 1 of 35
A healthy liver plays a key role in relieving digestive issues, such as a sluggish metabolism, gas, bloating, and constipation. It regulates blood sugar levels, which, when out of balance, can cause sugar cravings, fatigue, and fuzzy thinking.
A toxic liver can lead to inflammatory diseases, such as diabetes, arthritis, high blood pressure, and autoimmune diseases. Without a healthy liver, you may suffer from hormonal imbalances that can cause headaches, mood swings, and depression. It's time to nurture this amazing organ with foods that help it function optimally.

Because water flushes toxins and waste products from your body, you feel more energized and alert when you're fully hydrated, and most of us often aren't. This is what happens to your skin when you don't remove your make-up

Image result for beauty sleeping with makeup on

We have all been there, when we are too lazy to remove our make-up. From attending late-night weddings to a long day at work, removing make-up seems like a tedious job at night. But, do you know that this habit can take a toll on your skin. Missing that one step at night is one beauty sin a girl should never commit. Don't agree? Read through and know all the things that can happen when you don't remove your make-up regularly.

1. Eye infection
Getting that eye make-up right is an achievement for every girl. But, do you know that those hot smokey eyes or those colourful shadows can cause an eye infection? From mascara to shadows, the tiny particles can slip into your eye and cause irritation, redness and even a severe infection.

2. Stubborn Blackheads
No one is a fan of those hideous blackheads. When you don't remove make-up, you're only clogging your pores, leading to blackheads.

3. Pimple

One of the most obvious thing that can happen when you don't remove make-up is acne. Clogged pores and not removing make-up can cause infection and lead to pimples.

4. Dry Lips

Removing that long lasting lip colour is a task, we know. But is it worth getting dry lips? No way. When you don't remove your lipstick at night, your lips can become dry as the colour leaches the moisture away from it.

5. Skin Ageing
It's always better to take care of your skin at an early stage than going for treatments later on. Not removing your make-up, creates a barrier leading to dry skin. Also, the make-up attracts free radicals which can cause early signs of ageing.
